The Geometry_Match Rectangles tool is designed to identify pairs of rectangles that could represent the same window or door. It analyzes each pair, categorizes the rectangles into "Minor" and "Major" (based on size), and highlights the "Major" rectangle (the biggest one).
Requirements:
Select multiple geometric rectangle objects before running the script.
Steps:
Select multiple geometric rectangles that represent doors and windows in each room. These rectangles can be created using the standard Cyclone 3DR tool, Best Rectangle, from the contours generated with the Mesh_Extract Border tool.
Execute the script and select the Geometry_Match Rectangles option.
The script will search for pairs of rectangles and divide each pair into two groups:
Minor: The smaller rectangle in the pair.
Major: The larger rectangle in the pair.
Highlight the rectangles in the Major group with green color.
Notes:
The purpose of this tool is to retain only the most accurate rectangle representing a door or window.
In some scenarios, obstacles may block the scanner’s laser, leading to incomplete scans of doors or windows. These incomplete scans can affect the accuracy of the "Best Rectangle" generated.
By comparing rectangle pairs, this tool helps identify and highlight the most accurate representation of the door or window.
