🧱 Create Walls from Point Clouds
Create Walls. Part of Walls _Construction Tools. This script processes selected point clouds to generate vertical planes, groups them into wall segments, and creates rectangular wall representations at a specified Z level.
Requirements:Â
Before running the script:
Select one or multiple point clouds representing wall surfaces.
Each wall should ideally be represented by one or more vertically oriented point clouds.
Steps:
Option A - Multiple Point Clouds Mode
With this option user can select multiple point clouds, and the Script will detect the position and wall thickness automatically
Select Point Clouds
Choose point clouds in your project that correspond to wall surfaces.
Run the Script
Launch the script from the Walls_Construction Tools menu.
The script analyzes each cloud and fits a best-fit vertical plane.
The script fits the best rectangle between two parallel planes and asks the user to specify the level for object placement
Z-Level Selection
Pick a Z level manually by clicking a point in the viewport.
Or select from existing horizontal planes in the LEVELS group.Â
Option B - Single Point Cloud Mode
For that option, the Script will use only one plane for the wall creation, but the user should define the thickness and location of the wall.Â
Select only one point cloud
Run the Script
Specify wall thickness
Z-Level Selection
Click on which side of the wall plane the rectangle should be generated
Notes:
For best results, ensure point clouds are clean and segmented by walls (use the Cloud & Mesh - Point Cloud Walls Segment Filter )
Horizontal planes used for Z-level selection should be grouped under LEVELS. Create a group with the name "LEVELS" in the Geometry Group and insert any horizontal Plane.
